北京工商大學(xué)藝術(shù)與傳媒學(xué)院是由原傳播與藝術(shù)學(xué)院、數(shù)字內(nèi)容學(xué)院和藝術(shù)制作中心組建成立的。下設(shè)新聞學(xué)系、廣告學(xué)系、藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)系、數(shù)字內(nèi)容系和藝術(shù)傳媒實(shí)踐中心，擁有新聞學(xué)、廣播電視新聞學(xué)、廣告學(xué)、藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)四個(gè)專業(yè)和展示環(huán)境設(shè)計(jì)、視覺傳達(dá)設(shè)計(jì)、產(chǎn)品設(shè)計(jì)、廣告設(shè)計(jì)、數(shù)字技術(shù)、數(shù)字娛樂、數(shù)字管理等七個(gè)專業(yè)方向。學(xué)院新聞學(xué)為北京市特色專業(yè)，廣告學(xué)為北京市品牌專業(yè)。

　　北京工商大學(xué)藝術(shù)與傳媒學(xué)院擁有新聞學(xué)碩士點(diǎn)，涵蓋中國新聞史、經(jīng)濟(jì)新聞報(bào)道、數(shù)字產(chǎn)業(yè)技術(shù)及電視節(jié)目策劃、廣告經(jīng)營(yíng)、文化傳播與產(chǎn)業(yè)發(fā)展等五個(gè)研究方向，廣告策劃在職研究生培養(yǎng)新聞?lì)I(lǐng)域的高層次專門人才。

　　學(xué)院設(shè)有報(bào)紙編輯實(shí)驗(yàn)室、廣播電視實(shí)驗(yàn)室、攝影實(shí)驗(yàn)室、模型實(shí)驗(yàn)室、CAID實(shí)驗(yàn)室、陶藝實(shí)驗(yàn)室、蘋果機(jī)房、PC機(jī)房和天光畫室、基礎(chǔ)實(shí)驗(yàn)室、三維動(dòng)畫實(shí)驗(yàn)室、動(dòng)作捕捉實(shí)驗(yàn)室、動(dòng)畫創(chuàng)作實(shí)驗(yàn)室、視頻實(shí)驗(yàn)室、音頻實(shí)驗(yàn)室、數(shù)字媒體實(shí)驗(yàn)室。教學(xué)設(shè)施齊全，軟硬件配套，配置高端，功能先進(jìn)，覆蓋了動(dòng)畫設(shè)計(jì)制作、數(shù)字媒體設(shè)計(jì)制作、影像節(jié)目制作的各個(gè)流程，可充分滿足實(shí)踐教學(xué)的需要。

　　學(xué)院現(xiàn)有教職工98人，其中專任教師73人。教師中教授7人，副教授19人，講師39人。教師中具有博士學(xué)位的17人，具有碩士學(xué)位的43人。學(xué)院還聘請(qǐng)一批國內(nèi)知名學(xué)者擔(dān)任客座教授。學(xué)院教師積極開展科研活動(dòng)，近年來參與和主持完成多項(xiàng)國家項(xiàng)目和部、市級(jí)項(xiàng)目；出版學(xué)術(shù)著作約140部，發(fā)表論文700余篇；設(shè)計(jì)作品和繪畫作品多次參加國際和國家級(jí)的藝術(shù)展會(huì)。多項(xiàng)科研成果獲得國家級(jí)獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)和部、市級(jí)獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)。 

　　北京工商大學(xué)藝術(shù)與傳媒學(xué)院在職研究生實(shí)行開放式辦學(xué)，注重學(xué)生的素質(zhì)教育和能力培養(yǎng)。邀請(qǐng)學(xué)術(shù)界和傳媒、設(shè)計(jì)界名流來校講學(xué)，鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生熟悉社會(huì)，熟悉媒體和企業(yè)。不少學(xué)生在較重要的媒體上發(fā)表文章和新聞稿件，社會(huì)反響良好。學(xué)院每年組織學(xué)生參加國內(nèi)國際設(shè)計(jì)大賽，在美國的“金鉛筆獎(jiǎng)”（One Show）、臺(tái)灣的“金犢獎(jiǎng)”、中國廣告協(xié)會(huì)的“學(xué)院獎(jiǎng)”、教育部的“大學(xué)生廣告藝術(shù)大賽”，以及中國藝術(shù)院校大學(xué)生數(shù)碼媒體藝術(shù)大賽等賽事上，學(xué)院學(xué)生獲得了優(yōu)秀的成績(jī)。

School of Art & Communication 

School of Art & Communication (SAC) was established in November, 2008 on the basis of former School of Communication & Art, Digital Content School and the Center of Digital Arts. It consists of Journalism department, Advertising department, Artistic Design department, Digital Content department　and Art & Communication Experiment Center. The school now provides four undergraduate majors --- Journalism, Radio & Television Journalism, Advertising, Artistic Design, and seven bachelor's degree programs direction in--- visual communication design, shown environmental design, product design, advertising design, Digital Entertainment, Digital Technology, and Digital Management. Journalism and advertising is nominated as the distinctive major and brand major respectively by Beijing Municipal Education Commission. Up to September of 2008, the number of students at the school totals 1,846. 

The school can also provide master degree in Journalism which involves five research directions, including China journalism history, Economic news report, Technology of Digital Industry, The plan of TV programmes, Advertising management, Culture communication and Industrial development etc. We cultivate high-class talents for journalism.

The practicing environment for students at SAC includes Newspaper Editing laboratory, Radio and Television laboratory, photography laboratory, model laboratory, CAID laboratory, Ceramics laboratory, Apple computer lab, PC laboratory, studio with natural light, Fundamental Lab , three-dimensional animation laboratory, Motion Capture laboratory, Animation Creation laboratory, Video Lab, Audio Lab , These laboratories covered each technical process, which the animation design, the digital media design and production, the film and television program production. They can satisfy all kinds of the practice teaching and scientific research needs.

Up to December of 2008, the school has 98 members in all. Among them, there are 73 full-time teachers, including 7 professors, 19 associate professors and 39 lecturers or instructors. Among teachers, 17 of them own doctor degree, 43 own master degree. In addition, the school has also invited well-known scholars from the circles of academics, media industry, as well as from artistic design fields, to act as visiting professors.  The teachers of our school carry out professional studies actively.  In recent years, the finished and doing academic research projects have involved many national level projects, provincial and ministerial level projects. More than 140 various academic works and more than 700 papers related these researches have been published. 

The school faculty members have won many national, ministerial and city level rewards in recent years.

The school carries out the open style teaching, emphasizes on education for all-around development, and encourages students to combine campus study with social practice. School encourages students to publish press release and participate in academic research. Many undergraduates published predominant papers in national level newspapers and periodicals during the school period.

The school organizes students for all types of contests every year , like U.S.A One Show, Taiwan Times Ad-young, academic award of China Advertising Association, undergraduate advertising artistic contest by ministry of education, Digital Media Arts Competitions among colleges of arts.

Trough those participation, students can understand market demand to some extent. Up to the end of 2008, the students of SAC have gained more than 300 awards at international and national level contests, including 6 gold medals, 6 silver awards, 16 bronze awards.
